Ask the contractor which rooms and access routes must stay empty during each phase. Remove soft furnishings, artwork, electronics and freestanding furniture before demolition or sanding begins. Clean and dry every item, wrap fragile surfaces and label boxes by the room they will return to. Keep paint, fuel, gas cylinders, wet materials and other prohibited or hazardous goods out of the unit. Store spare tiles, packaged fittings and sealed tools only where the facility rules allow. If the project has several phases, position the items needed first near the front and maintain an aisle to renovation supplies you may need to collect.
